Our thoughts are with employees currently on active military duty, and we thank our military veterans for their personal sacrifice and dedication.
On November 11th, the U.S. observed Veterans Day while most provinces in Canada observe Remembrance Day.
Hiring veterans continues to be a part of Air Products' commitment to equal employment and becoming the most diverse and inclusive industrial gases company in the world. Today's military personnel are exceptionally well trained, highly disciplined, accustomed to working in teams, and goal-oriented; they have the potential to promote and become the backbone of any organization. Veterans also have strong leadership skills: the ability to foster cultural inclusion, promote teamwork, and motivate a diverse workforce while attaining goals.
U.S. veteran hires during calendar year 2016 represented 19 percent of total hires; calendar year 2017 hiring is trending at 18 percent of total hires.

Capturing the Veteran Opportunity
Air Products participates in monthly Transition Assistant Program classes (TAP) at select military bases. The TAP classes provide information, tools, and training to ensure service members and their spouses are prepared for civilian life, whether pursuing additional education, finding a job in the public or private sector, or starting their own business. The classes provide a way to showcase our company, share information about available positions, and explain how attendees' Military Occupational Specialty skill sets would satisfy Air Products job qualifications.
TAP class participation, plus the networks we've formed through Linkedin—has helped us develop an excellent pipeline of connections. Our membership in the Veterans Jobs Mission and partnership with Hirepurpose also helps to keep us highly visible to veterans.
