Overview:
This is an improved method for the co-production of hydrogen and methanol from synthesis gas generated by the steam reforming of light hydrocarbons. The hydrocarbon can be C1 to C5 and of course includes natural gas. The improved method offers an alternative solution to the problems encountered in other steam reforming processes that produce syngas having an excess of hydrogen.
Benefits:
- Production of a stoichiometricly balanced syngas (i.e. the syngas does not contain excess hydrogen) that can be further processed to methanol and hydrogen
