As a leading producer of industrial gases, Air Products conducts research programs to develop new process applications for those products in a variety of industries. Both independently and in collaborative programs with customers, Air Products investigates potential process benefits of the unique properties of purified common gases such as oxygen and nitrogen as well as complex gases synthesized in bulk: syngas, hydrogen, carbon monoxide and dioxide. Our cryogenic expertise has been utilized in areas as diverse as food freezing, cryogenic grinding, and VOC recovery. Our background in oxygen chemistry has led to the development of wet oxidation processes employing both oxygen and ozone, as well as metallurgical processing using oxygen as a reactive gas.
