Air Products’ Halia® sludge treatment offerings provide options to reduce the amount of sludge (biosolids) requiring disposal from your biological wastewater treatment process. The Halia oxygen sludge digestion adds oxygen to an existing aerobic digester increasing the rate of digestion and reducing sludge by 30-60%. The Halia ozone sludge disintegration utilizes ozone to kill the bacteria converting their weight into COD which are then consumed in the biological treatment process thereby reducing the total sludge production by up to 80%.

Halia® oxygen sludge digestion

The Halia oxygen sludge digestion system is easy to install in existing aerobic sludge tanks where it can help reduce sludge disposal costs from 30 to 60 percent. The system consists of oxygen supply — either as liquid oxygen or onsite generation — and oxygen dissolution equipment.

Halia® ozone sludge disintegration

The Halia ozone sludge disintegration system utilizes an ozone reactor within an external loop in the activated sludge process to kill bacteria and convert their weight into COD that can then be digested in the existing aerobic biological basin. Use of this technology can reduce sludge production by up to 80 percent.  This offering is not available in all regions; please check with your local office.
